Latifa Qobi

Practical GeoMechanics, is founded by Latifa Qobi in 2016. Latifa has over 20 years of experience as geoscientist in the E&P business having specialised in geomechanics and its associated engineering applications for conventional, EOR/IOR and unconventional appraisal and developments.  Her geomechanics experience covers data acquisition, rock mechanics, borehole stability, sanding prediction, subsidence, fault reactivation, and hydraulic fracturing in both conventional and unconventional environments. Latifa has worked for an oil service company (Baker Atlas), consulting company (Geomechanics International, GMI), and for operators (PDO and Shell) in many geographically and culturally diverse environments.While working for Shell, Latifa was one of the global subject matter experts (SME) and a Technical authority level- 2 (TA2) with responsibility for assuring and signing off geomechanics work for the region.
